A fun FREE art lesson that can be used with S.T.E.A.M. Children grades K-4 will watch a read aloud book by author and illustrator Jan Brett about a turtle with a "gorgeous garden growing on her shell." Students will then create a multi-media turtle collage over a period of 2-3 class periods. Along with the artwork created, they will learn about a turtle's habitat, how to create a turtle shell using 6 sided hexagons, and ways to make 3D flowers. This lesson is presented step by step with many visuals, a complete supply list and helpful hints.
